Duncan business leader Rick Braught appointed to OU Board of Regents

A different appointee from Gov. Kevin Stitt arrives to the College of Oklahoma Board of Regents from a company history.

The governor introduced Friday he selected Rick Braught, of Duncan, to fill a vacant seat on OU’s best governing board, which also oversees Cameron College and Rogers Condition College.

Braught is the president of Traders Belief Co. He has led the Duncan-dependent business enterprise since 1996.

He and his spouse, Barbara, also own The Territory Golfing & Country Club, a golf study course and residential group in Duncan.

An OU business enterprise graduate, of both of those bachelor’s and master’s degree applications, Braught would fill an unexpired phrase ending March 21, 2023.

Braught mentioned he is “honored” to be appointed.

He was the president of Claremore metal pole company Pelco Structural till the company fired in him 2019. The company later accused him in court paperwork of fraud, embezzlement and breach of fiduciary responsibility.

Albert alleged in a Rogers County District Courtroom lawsuit the firm wrongfully fired him. The lawsuit, submitted in 2019, is continue to pending.

OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. mentioned Albert confirmed an “ardent passion” for the university.

Stitt also was complimentary of Albert adhering to the regent’s resignation.

“Phil Albert served the College of Oklahoma effectively all through his time as a regent,” Stitt claimed in a January statement.
